A client responds to the Hospitality Center Experience

Sometimes we get discouraged, but often something happens and our spirits are lifted and we are renewed to continue with the work of the Lord with increased enthusiasm. We hope that these comments from Marc Podolsky encourage the hearts of all of you who support this ministry.

When I was homeless the Hospitality Center was the place to come for food and to get out of the elements. Here there is always someone to talk to. Both staff and volunteers lend an ear and a bit of comfort. I lived on the streets for a year and a half both physically and mentally ill. In 2007 I had 2 heart attacks. I don’t know if it runs in my family because I never knew my birth parents. I was using cocaine at the time of the heart attacks and now have an imbedded defibrillator. Once when I was really sick you helped me pay for my medication.

Since July I have been housed in an apartment and am receiving therapy. I continue to struggle with alcohol. Coming to the Center is a reason to get up in the morning. I come for comfort – physically, mentally and spiritually.

Thank you,

Marc Podolsky
